You're Gonna Miss This Moment

It seems like forever since I have done one of these posts, but this morning I was reminded of something that I am going to miss so much! Natalie loves to give big gigantic hugs, which she calls "queezes". After she hugs you as hard as she can, she asks, "Was that good 'queezes'?" She did that this morning when she came up to my bedroom and it just hit me that she may not do this too much longer. So instead of fighting to get her to let go (because sometimes it hurts!), I'm going to enjoy the moments while they last.

You're Gonna Miss This...Moment #6

                               YGMT___moment_2

This blog carnival was created by Pam at You're Gonna Miss This. A chance to look at our lives and think about what we are going to miss, or already do miss. To play along click on the above link and read the rules. You'll also find many more great moments.

Well, from my most recent post, it's obvious that it hasn't been an easy week. On top of Marissa's death, my 8 yr old nephew (who was diagnosed with Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy at age 2) was fitted for his first wheelchair. We knew the day was coming, but boy did it sneak up on us. The years have seemed to fly by. Little by little it has been obvious that he is getting weaker. He doesn't need the chair yet, but it's only a matter of time.

I am really going to miss seeing Kyle amble his way down the hall, with his cute little out-turned toes gait. He is such a persistent little guy and no matter how many times he falls down or stumbles, he gets right back up and tries again. I am praying that being in a wheelchair doesn't steal his determination or change his fun outlook on life.

And to be honest, I really miss when life was easy. You know, like back when I was 4. :)

You're Gonna Miss This Moment #5

As usual, I'm behind on getting my moment posted, but I have had this specific post in my head for about a week. Ever since I did this in Natalie's room.

nat's new bed 003 Yep...we started taking down the baby bed. I was going to set up her toddler bed, and then decided to just take off the side rail of her crib instead. She was climbing out of it every single night, so I thought it would be a lot safer to just take it down. But I didn't realize how emotional I would be about it! Knowing she is my last baby, and therefore the last baby of mine to sleep in this crib is killing me! She has adjusted well to her "big girl bed" (if you call venturing down the stairs 10 times every night before she finally falls asleep adjusting well!). However, the first night when Adam put her to bed she asked him to "put the fence back up". And this is where I found her when I got home from work:

Oh, and I have to post this picture...this is what I found under her crib:

nat's new bed 004 We were thinking the kitchen cupboard stash was getting low!

You're Gonna Miss This Moment #4

I'm feeling very nostalgic today, as my baby girl has moved into size 2T clothes. No more "months" sizes! I know, not really a big deal, but when she's the last baby...it's difficult for this mama! So this is my "YGMT...moment".
Thanks to Pam (who I had lunch with on Friday :) More on that in another post) over at You're Gonna Miss This for hosting this awesome carnival. Click here for full instructions.

You're Gonna Miss This Moment #3

To learn more about this awesome meme, click here. Thanks again Pam!!

I haven't blogged in almost a whole week because my laptop charger decided to take a vacation. I could not get the darn thing to work at all. Until last night I decided to plug it in in the kitchen. Voila! Vacation must have been over. So I'm back! Now, on to my YGMT...moment.

Sweet baby girls who fall asleep in their high chairs...

and suck their thumbs when they sleep (I really miss this!!!) She only did it for about a month, but it was so darn cute :)

In approximately 3 weeks, Miss Nattie B will be 2 (actually, on the same day that baby Stellan will enter the world!). It's hard for me to believe that my baby girl is growing up so fast! Today she was dry in her pull-up all day long. Way to go, Nat! The last few nights she has been waking up around 3 AM fussing and crying for Mommy. As much as I hate to get out my nice warm bed and go to her, the sweet smell of a warm, sleepy, feety-pj'd baby is something that I will always treasure. Thank you, God, for the gift of my 3 beautiful, healthy girls. Help me to be the mama they deserve.

You're Gonna Miss This Moment #2

Thanks Pam for this Meme...it is an awesome reminder to cherish every moment of our lives. The days go by very quickly, and if we don't stop to remember our favorite things...we may just forget them. I know I don't want to do that!!

Apple picking!!! We took the girls on Saturday and we all had so much fun. Everyone behaved (imagine that!!!) and it was a gorgeous day. We even got to go on a free hayride to a pumpkin patch.

This picture is so precious to me. I'm gonna miss those tiny little hands!
Abbie was a great apple picker. She just kind of went off by herself and would come back every once in a while with a whole armful of beautiful apples.
These are the rules of apple picking, just in case you were wondering :)
1) Don't pick them up off the ground
2) Make sure there are no holes in them
3) No mushy apples!
4) Don't leave Natalie alone by the basket (we had to throw away at least 7 apples that had teeth marks in them!!!)

You're Gonna Miss This

Today my mom and I were driving to garage sales and my girls were in the back seat just talking away to each other. They sound so innocent, talking about little girl things. All too soon the backseat chatter will be filled with talk of boys and who did what at school. I really want to hold on to the innocence they have now. Here is a blip of what we heard...from Adelle, I think "pretend Jesus died for our sins and now we are talking on the phone". Huh??!!! But it made me laugh!

And how much longer will they be excited about clothing bought from a garage sale? I think I will really miss that!

The ramblings of a stay at home mom who has way too much time on her hands. Although my house could use a good cleaning...nah, this is more fun!!
