AGC Baby Center Video

I'm warning you now...get your kleenex :)

My friend Jolinda made this video to show at church yesterday. The number of children who become orphans every day in Kenya is astounding. Heart-breaking. Read more about these precious children at nmcandthebabycenter.blogspot.com

Bathroom...continued

Here are some more "during" pictures

february 142 This is where the bathroom door used to be.

february 138 Just to the right of the fridge is where the door is now. Which is where the oven used to be. It is now where the bathroom door was. Confused yet?!

february 141 This is where the vanity used to be. The hole is leading into Adelle's closet. This is where the tub sits now. (not in Adelle's closet...)

So there it is! I love it so much :)

Overheard from the backseat:

Adelle: "Can we take all of our toys to Heaven?"

Abbie: "No. You don't have enough hands."

Abbie came home from school yesterday and told us that 2 little boys in her class had called her a "hot chick". Man, oh man, I am not ready for this!

Here is what the girlies got last week:

IMG_0676 Please overlook the incredibly messy room! We have wanted bunkbeds for quite some time, but couldn't find any at a reasonable price. I found these on Craigslist and was able to contact the seller right away. So excited!

Pray For Stellan

Bathroom pics will be up later, but this is way more important right now. Stellan is back in the PICU with SVT, and needs our prayers. Please stop right now and lift him and his wonderful family up to our great big God.

The Bathroom

It's done!!! Except for a few minor paint touchups and all the accessories, my bathroom is finished. As I told Adam yesterday, I'm so excited I could squeal. To which he replied, well, never mind. He's a guy...what more can I say?! Anywho...here are the pics :)

Before: (really, these are NOT during!)

february 076 to the left of the ladder is my tub. february 077

During:

IMG_0647 These little girls did an awesome job of getting in the way helping us out. IMG_0651   IMG_0650 (she is STILL sporting this lovely shade of primer on her arm...and legs...and hair)  IMG_0654

Abbie helped too, but I didn't get any pictures. Not sure why...

Ugh, I just realized I have a bunch more "during" pictures, of the actual construction, but they are on my other camera. At home. I'll try to get those up tomorrow.

On that note, I'll just put you all in suspense for the after pictures :) Can't show the completed project yet!

Here's the handsome man behind the work -- he did an awesome job!

My Big Girl

february 075 Like her new look? She's not a baby anymore! The haircut that started out as a "trim", turned into this. And I love it!!! Here's a couple more:

february 070 february 071

*Update* Natalie had her follow-up foot doctor appointment yesterday and we found out that she will be getting braces on her legs after all. We go on Wednesday to be fitted for them, and then it will be about a week until she gets them. The doctor is very optimistic that the braces will take care of the issue, and she won't need surgery when she gets older. For those that don't know, Nat's feet have been turning in when she runs and she was starting to trip and fall quite often. Also, because of the rotation of her legs, her 2nd toe was starting to overlap her big toe on both feet. It is not something that will correct itself as she gets older and would get worse if we didn't do anything about it. Please pray that she will adjust to the braces quickly and that they will indeed correct the problem. Thanks!

My friend Pam is hosting a fun giveaway on her blog in honor of her 1 year blogoversary. If you like Beth Moore, you better check it out! She will be drawing the winners on Friday.

She's hosting another one today for a cookbook. Goodness knows, I sure need that :) Check it out!

Updates on the girlies

Where, oh where does the time go? Seriously! I have been meaning to update this blog for a week now! So if anybody is still checking up on us (are you out there? leave me a comment and let me know!), here's a quick rundown on our lives at the moment:

Abbie: learning to read! She has 2 or 3 books that she can read through really well. It amazes me how well she is doing, but then again, I was reading before Kindergarten also. Must take after me...oh wait :)

february 188  Abbie and her very favorite blankie, Babe

Adelle: hmm...besides striving to torture her older sister at every turn? Honestly, these 2 fight horribly! I know it doesn't help that Abbie cries about every little thing (more fuel for Dell's fire!). Then there are times when they are the best of friends. I never had a sister, but I'm sure it's all completely normal. Adelle is writing more and more words every day and getting super excited about Kindergarten in the fall. And so is her mama

february 138

Natalie: potty-training - round 2. She is actually doing pretty well, and I don't have any trips out of the country scheduled so maybe we can nail it this time! She is in full-blown "Terrible 2" mode now, so if you see us at the store...run away quick! She has thrown 2 massive tantrums in the last week - both in public places. I think she's secretly reading Small Fry's lessons! She is talking up a storm now and is so much fun to listen to. Her favorite phrases are "Oh my gosh!", "I not know", and "I AM" (with as much attitude as she can muster! In response to anything I ask her to do...whether she is actually doing it or not) Oh yes, never a dull moment!

In other news, we are in the process of remodeling our bathroom, which should be finished this weekend. Stay tuned for before and after pictures. We're excited!

AND.......we're getting a new aunt/sister-in-law! My brother proposed to his girlfriend of many years and she said yes! Exciting times :) Love you, Danielle!

So, that about wraps it up. Remember to leave me a comment and let me know that you care ;) Happy Thursday!

The ramblings of a stay at home mom who has way too much time on her hands. Although my house could use a good cleaning...nah, this is more fun!!
